This plein air painting titled "Almost Urban" is a view from my high rise condo balcony in Skokie, IL looking out toward the magnificent city of Chicago. Although I would absolutely love to live downtown, I would not necessarily want to deal with the traffic and commute trying to get to my corporate health care day job. I have an over-sized wrap around patio/balcony and enjoy sitting out there to admire the Chicago skyline. Given the wonderful September temps we've been having, I decided to spend a couple days out there painting.
Skokie is one suburb off Chicago and a great compromise between suburban and urban living being connected by the Yellow Line CTA. I live next door to the Illinois Holocaust Museum.
Painting "en plein air" means to paint from life. No cameras/photography were involved in the creation of this piece.
The 18x14" stretched canvas is framed in black wood as shown and ships via USPS.
