Story Behind the Painting

This scene is from one of Chicago's oldest commercial boarding stables which offers many children's programs including quick pony rides. Although I feel sorry for rented trail riding horses, who have to wear a bit and put up with amateurs, ponies used for pony rides seem to have it pretty easy and enjoy a lot of attention. These guys have a nice hitching area in the shade.
