Story Behind the Painting

This original oil cityscape painting is titled "Carpenter's Tower" and is 9x12". The painting is of the SW corner of Carpenter and Washington I painted late morning on Sunday, September 18 as a plein air demonstration at the West Loop Art Fair. Apparently, the city of Chicago is slowly eliminating the old copper water towers with each new deluxe condominium building so am doing my part to preserve this water tower heritage. I though this blue tower was interesting as is shorter than most but on "stilts" or a soap box of sorts. :)
